Blue Screen Error

Question :

Running Vista Home Premium and the computer is just over 12 months old. Do have an AMD 6400+ processor, 4gb RAM and a Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card all mounted on an Asus Crosshair motherboard. Problem is that a lot of my games freeze during play (especially the online games that we play and from time to time we get a ‘Blue Screen’ telling that “collecting data for a crash dump” and “physical memory dump”. Our computer should be a high enough spec to be able to cope with these games. We have changed all memory, with no effect and have also changed graphics card, with no effect.

Solution:

There is actually a laundry list of issues that may be affecting your game play.

We would first start by ensuring that you have the latest version of Direct X installed on the machine.

If that does not resolve the issue your drivers for your video card, your sound card, your chip set, and your sound card may need updating. (Always go to the manufacturers support section of the web site to get the actual “latest and greatest” drivers for any hardware.)

If all of these options fail check the ASUS web site and see if there is a new bios that has been released for your motherboard.
